Mahesh Sharma is a seasoned finance leader with over 17 years of diverse experience in financial management, strategic planning, cost control, regulatory compliance, and ERP implementation. Currently serving as Head of Finance, Accounts, and Costing at Kering India Pvt. Ltd., he plays a key role in managing financial operations across B2B and B2C segments for one of the world’s leading luxury conglomerates. Mahesh’s expertise spans industries including automotive, consumer electronics, and durable goods, with significant exposure to Japanese manufacturing practices and corporate governance standards.
Throughout his career, he has demonstrated a strong command over budgeting, forecasting, internal controls, audits (including Big 4 and statutory audits), and risk management frameworks such as SOX and ICFR. He has led end-to-end SAP implementations and re-alignments (FICO, MM, SD, COPA), streamlined costing models, and developed data-driven strategies to support informed decision-making and enhance business performance. His experience also covers legal and tax compliance, foreign exchange risk, supplier financing, and optimizing working capital through strategic vendor and customer negotiations.
At Kering, Mahesh has led the re-implementation of SAP to integrate global and local processes, overseen the full spectrum of financial reporting, cost audits, CAPEX management, and ensured regulatory compliance for import-export operations across geographies including Malaysia, Italy, Singapore, Maldives, and Sri Lanka. Prior to this, he held leadership roles at Panasonic Life Solutions, Daikin, Suzuki Motorcycle, and Hi-Tech Gears, where he was instrumental in setting up financial frameworks for manufacturing operations, developing costing tools, and managing statutory reporting and taxation.
Mahesh holds an MBA in Finance and Cost Management, is a qualified Cost & Works Accountant (CMA), and also holds M.Com and B.Com degrees in Finance and Accounting. In addition, he is proficient in SAP, Oracle, Hyperion (HFM), BPC, and Power BI, which he leverages to drive digital transformation in financial reporting and analytics.
